We had a great time about 40 fish was caught the biggest was a 44lb to the smallest 3lb

The facilities was basic the door to the cabin was broken the electricity was a problem

Details of your catches:

Fantastic week’s fishing with 35 carp between us.
Steve landed 16 carp, topped by a 55lb common, 41.5lb common and 40lb mirror.
Lee landed 19 carp, topped by a 48.5lb mirror, 43.5lb mirror, 38.5lb common and 37lb mirror.
Between us we had a great mixture of commons, mirrors, ghost carp and grass carp, including 13 fish over 30lb and 4 over 40lb. A brilliant week’s fishing with some magnificent fish.

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

I had most success with tiger nuts combined with high-attract wafters/pop-ups, along with 20mm Cell boilies and high-leakage hookbaits.

Lee’s most successful presentation was a Krill Hard Hooker with a tiger pop-up fished snowman-style.

Moving rods onto showing fish and being prepared to change spots made a big difference throughout the week.

Were the facilities what you expected?

Yes. The facilities were as expected and provided everything we needed for a week’s fishing. The lake and surrounding area were peaceful and made for a very enjoyable stay.

Were you happy with them?

Very happy. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Ragon. The facilities were good, the setting was excellent and having the lake to ourselves made the week even better.

Combined with the quality and variety of the carp, it was a fantastic French fishing trip and we’d definitely return.

Absolutely. Ragon is a beautiful, peaceful venue with some magnificent carp. The fishing can make you work for your bites, but that makes the rewards even better. With 35 carp between us, including some exceptional fish, we’d happily recommend Ragon and would definitely return.

Yes, definitely. We were very happy with the overall experience and would happily recommend Angling Lines to other anglers looking for a French carp-fishing holiday.

General Comments:

A fantastic and memorable week at Lake Ragon. We experienced everything from extreme heat to torrential rain, so locating the fish and adapting our tactics was key.

We finished with 35 carp between us, including 13 fish over 30lb and 4 over 40lb. The highlights were Stephen’s 55lb common and Lee’s 48.5lb mirror.

Beautiful surroundings, quality fish and a brilliant week’s fishing. We’ll definitely be back!
