Details of your catches:

We arrived to be told it’s not fishing well due to the very high temperatures… this did prove to be the case.. we had a window of 2 days when it was a bit cooler and breezy - we had a series of runs and fish then.
13 carp landed, a few lost at the net also. 2 x 40s to 46lb 8oz with several 30's each and 20's, doubles and a few small carp also. Only 1 grass carp and 1 tench also.

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Crays are active at night mainly so we used tiger nut and plastic baits then. I did manage 3 carp on pop up very bright boilies though.

Were the facilities what you expected?

Everything was fantastic apart from the toilet. Superb hot shower and the fridge freezer was great.. we froze our ice blocks each day in the freezer and put in the fridge over night to make sure it stayed cold.

Were you happy with them?

Yes loved it

Yes, very good lake. Some lovely fish . Unfortunately 40+ degrees kept the carp down near the dam wall area.

Would you recommend the services to a friend?

Regularly use Angling Lines. Never had an issue.

General Comments:

Really enjoyed our time there despite it a real struggle with the heat. Crays weren’t too much of a problem, just fished tigers and fake baits to combat them

Details of your catches:

Only 3 fish
25lb mirror
42.5lb and 46.5lb common

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Keep moving rods because of the chats eating baits, not good

Were the facilities what you expected?

No terrible. Not enough cooking utensils, not enough plates, knives and forks yeah and there was nothing in the description telling us we had to bring our own

Were you happy with them?

No

General Comments:

I found the swims were a danger to the angler and the fish. There was rocks all the way round the edge of the lake which made it very hard to land. Fish also slippery getting into the lake so the fish were safe. There was a dead common carp must’ve been about 40lb he had been there quite awhile we reported this to the bailiff at the lake but nothing was done.
*Angling Lines note* Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry that you had a difficult time on the lake. We will discuss the points you have raised with the owner Chris, and we apologise for the delay before the dead fish was removed. Regarding utensils on the website it does say 'While there are a few basic items in the cabin, guests are encouraged to bring their own cooking utensils, plates, and cutlery'.

Details of your catches:

With the heatwave and record temperatures 40+ degrees all week and only fishing 4 nights and 5 days it was tough but we did ok, a few small Tench, 9 carp to 38lb, 16 Grass Carp with 4 over 40lb (biggest 45lb) and we caught the Sturgeon twice

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

We found it was too hot in the shallows with the water temperature at 33 degrees and the fish happier to feed in 2mtrs of water or more, ronnies and combi rigs did the trick with boilie or tigers topped with fake maize and a good spread of bait.

Were the facilities what you expected?

As described and reasonably clean, if you are on the bigger side then the shower is a bit of a squeeze to get in and out of.

Were you happy with them?

All in all very nice and a cracking lake, I will look to return but hopefully to some cooler temperatures.
