Were the facilities what you expected?
Yes excellent, everything we needed. Comfortable week.

General Comments:
Best venue we have used in our five trips to France. Had to pull the rods in on some nights, just to get some rest. If you want plenty of hard fighting fish, this is the venue.

We used a bait boat for all rods, had 3 left of side of spit, 3 right of spit and 2 right of the lodge. The fish were mainly in the deeper dam wall area for the start of the week. But moved around a bit towards the end. we found bait boating to the same spots all week worked with a mixture of particle and boile. We caught on wafters and pop ups, and tiger nuts. Bites came throughout the day and night.

Were you happy with them?
Yes, although there is no knives and bowls, so may want to take them with you.

General Comments:
The venue is lovely, and you get left alone for the duration of your week unless you require bait from the baliff, who is a very nice frenchman. There is not much info on the page about this lake so here is what we found:
There is SIGNIFICANT crayfish activity in the shallow end, with some activity around any margin. They would decimate even double wrapped baits overnight.
The swans and mallards will batter your spots if it is shallow and has a H block, better off not putting the blocks out, and feed the ducks from the lodge when you put your bait out, they cant find it once dropped without a H block.
The river bed in the middle down by the dam wall was extremely productive, with bites almost on the drop at times.
The boat on site had a break in the hull which had filled with rain water, it was useable but would have been good to have one without this issue.
The bait provided is good, but comes frozen and they ran out of bait for us by the end of the week so consider taking plenty yourself.
The solar power worked perfectly, charged the boat batteries all week no problem.
There is a LOT of grass carp, which does mean there is only small amounts of marginal weed.
The fish tended to only show at night, not much showing activity during daylight hours.
We had 77 fish out, and no 50s, average size was 27lb.
We found the best bet was to spread all your rods over the lake and stick to the spots for the duration of the week.
We caught from the deep water, the shallow margins, just about every depth really, every rod had fish at some point in the week.
Overall, the lake is fantastic, well stocked with fish in great condition that fight well, the facilities are really good, would recommend to anyone who wants an action packed week, but maybe not to real big fish hunters.
*Angling Lines note* Thank you for your feedback, all taken on board. The owner has stated he will replace knives and bowls that are missing. There will also be a new boat for 2024 and the lake will be netted this winter to remove some of the grass carp.

Would you recommend the venue to a friend?
Yes definitely
Would you recommend the services to a friend?
Yes definitely everything went smoothly
General Comments:
We had a fantastic time at Ragon, the lake is picture perfect in person, all the fish are hard fighting, we only caught a handful during the day as it was extremely hot, mostly caught between the hours of midnight and 7am.
