Details of your catches:
Only 4 fish between the 2 of us. Mark 48lb 8oz mirror 37lb 14oz common Danny 30lb 6oz common 28lb common all pb fish
Your best tactics/bait/rigs:
Boilie, tigers and pop up hookbaits all worked between us with scattering of particle and boilie. Tried big beds of baits on spots and scattering on others, both approaches caught fish.
Were the facilities what you expected?
Yes.
Were you happy with them?
Yes basic but adequate.

General Comments:
Started fishing from the spit after finding clear areas around the weed but that wasn't productive in the first few days so we moved to the dam wall for 3 days where Mark had both the big mirror and common, Danny had 1 common from the spit before we moved, the dam wall shut off again so we moved back to the spit on Friday for ease of packing away on Saturday where Danny had the other common. The weather wasn't ideal, mid 20s through the day then dropping to between 3 and 4° overnight which we think hindered the feeding from the fish and not really showing themselves which made it hard to locate them apart from the odd bosh out in the night, but the dense night sound give us no clue to where exactly they was. The lake is lovely in all fairness with a lot of weed around the margins and the shallow end with banks of weed dotted around the whole lake. In time I think a bailiff would be required on hand if anglers need any information as at present there isn't much info with it being a relatively new water and the bailiff that is apparently the bailiff is more of a caretaker for the facilities rather than a bailiff for fishing information which we met him on arrival the Saturday and never seen him again. But all in all we both had pbs and as always we all want more fish, but we were happy with what we caught in the end with the weather conditions against us to be fair.

Details of your catches:
We finished the week with 16 carp to 40lb 2oz. The fishing wasn't easy due to weather conditions but enjoyable! Cabin was wicked with good facilities. All in all a mega good trip for me and my dad, will definitely return.
Your best tactics/bait/rigs:
We fished boilies and particles towards the far side when the weather was hot and fished open water spots when we had 48 hours of rain.
Were the facilities what you expected?
Facilities were brilliant, shower was nice and hot! Water was nice and hot on the kitchen sink provided too! Cabin is wicked, really good for socialising and the view of the lake from the cabin is mint!
Were you happy with them?
Very happy all round would love to return in a couple years time.
Would you recommend the venue to a friend?

Details of your catches:
Caught a mix of mirrors, commons and grass carp. 26 fish in total biggest being 45lb mirror and a grass carp at 42lb. Rest of the fish were mainly between 35lb and 40lb.
Your best tactics/bait/rigs:
Both pop ups and bottom baits caught but bottom baits caught the bigger fish. All caught on boilies.
Were the facilities what you expected?
We were very happy with the facilities which were clean and well equipped. We did take a small generator to run a small freezer so we could rotate bait. We also kept bait in the main freezer at the farm. There is a small gas powered fridge on site which was big enough to keep food refrigerated but we took a extra one for drinks!!
Were you happy with them?
Yes, very comfortable and sheltered from the sun.
Would you recommend the venue to a friend?
Yes.
Would you recommend the services to a friend?
Yes, this was not our first choice of lake but because of covid and dates being changed we couldn't fish the lake we wanted. However the Angling Lines team did everything they could to find us a venue. We treated this trip as a holiday rather than a fishing trip and we all enjoyed getting back to France. We have booked a few trips with Angling Lines and have not been disappointed, looking forward to our next trip in 2022.
General Comments:
Ragon will develop over the next few years, the owners were very nice and welcoming. There is a fair amount of weed in the upper part of the lake which restricted fishing to the main part of the lake. The 2 main swims caught the most fish which left the third person on the dam wall. We found that this had a effect on the main part of the lake by pushing the fish up in to the upper part of the lake. Because of this and the weed in the upper part I think the lake to more suited to 2 anglers.

Details of your catches:
15 carp in total biggest fish 42lb Grass carp, 41lb mirror and a 40lb common, these were also backed up with several upper thirties, smallest mirror 18lb. Two koi were also caught, biggest 22lb.
Your best tactics/bait/rigs:
The weather was hot during the days most fish were found spread around the lake in the weed beds, a large bed of bait put out in the main body of water (boilies/pellet) just beyond the weed at 7ft produced fish during the nights and early mornings to both pop ups and bottom baits. Nash Scopex squid took all the fish. I did stalk a cracking 27lb linear that will be a stunning fish if it puts on more weight.
Were the facilities what you expected?
The cabin on the lake edge with its veranda was a god send to skip the sun during the days. It has everything you need to make for a comfortable trip. It's powered by a solar panel but this does not really supply enough power for the fridge freezer, so you have to balance the use of it, which was a challenge (switch it off at a night). If a couple of the trees were topped to the right of the cabin your get 3-4 more hours of charge (a note for the owner). Shower and toilet facilities very clean and great shower pressure and temp. *Angling Lines note* Thank you for this feedback, we will discuss rectifying this with the owner.
Were you happy with them?
They made for a comfortable week, and refuge from the incredible electric storm that came in on Friday night and lasted two hours. I only rate it 4 stars purely due to the solar power.

General Comments:
We found the lake was far prettier in person than the photos on line, very peaceful. It does have weed around all margins, with the exception of the dam wall, so finding clear spots around the margins is a challenge, but once into 2m plus this disperses and the bottom is clear. I don't usually fish in the summer months preferring spring and autumn and would like to fish the place in better conditions. The fish are very clean and a good mixture of commons and scaley mirrors and in time when weights increase Ragon will become a great venue.
