Details of your catches:
We had a great week at Ragon, just me and my brother for the week fishing from the peninsula in front of the cabin. We had over 30 carp between us so plenty of action including 2 40's to 46lb
Your best tactics/bait/rigs:
Best tactics were fishing tight to the weed on the far margins using the bait boat, we used a mix of pellet and boilies mainly with plenty of liquids.
Were the facilities what you expected?
The facilities are fantastic, the cabin on the lake is a dream especially if you're up on the decking for sunrise!
Were you happy with them?
Facilities were great, everything you need for a comfortable week.
Would you recommend the venue to a friend?
Yes
Would you recommend the services to a friend?
100% always
General Comments:
Great trip overall, as always AL makes everything easy and the fishing at Ragon was great :)

Details of your catches:
47 fish landed between 3 anglers including a 46lb Grass Carp, 42lb Common, 40lb Mirror and a 21lb Koi. This was alongside multiple 20s and 30s
Your best tactics/bait/rigs:
Solid bags to showing fish or on the edge of weed beds on the far margin.
Were the facilities what you expected?
Better than expected
Were you happy with them?
Fantastic to have a shower to freshen up everyday, Power in the cabin was more than enough to charge multiple power-packs and bait-boats throughout the week with no issues.
Ate on the veranda every night together and been able to sit and relax socially whilst having receivers next to you is just what you need on a week with big fish and great company.
Would you recommend the venue to a friend?
Yes, Fantastic lake with beautiful surroundings and a great head of fish.
Would you recommend the services to a friend?
Yes, with the issues with P&O I didn't have to chase anyone, all our crossings where changed to the Eurotunnel with no fuss to make sure we got across easily.
General Comments:
Fantastic week at a stunning location with plenty of big fish, Better than any of us could have imagined.

Details of your catches:
A disappointing week with only 5 fish between 4 anglers (2 of us failed to register) 1x 41lb mirror, 32lb & 31lb commons, 2 x 29lb commons. We don’t profess to be experts but we’ve had very good hauls from other Angling Lines venues in the past.
Your best tactics/bait/rigs:
Difficult to locate fish - 4 were caught off left side of the spit fishing close to the mid-water weed patch.
Were the facilities what you expected?
The cabin is a god send - great for social and most welcome on the couple of very wet days that we experienced. Considering the lack of mains connection, the shower and loo were nicely presented (although emptying the compostable loo at the end of the week may not be to everybody’s liking!)
Were you happy with them?
They were as good as we’ve experienced elsewhere with Angling Lines. Shower could be warmer. The owner Chris visited - nice chap with a good command of English.
Would you recommend the venue to a friend?
Probably not - it’s a long drive through Central Paris and we experienced a poor catch total
Would you recommend the services to a friend?
Yes Angling Lines are always accommodating in our experience.
General Comments:
Had issues with a bunch of coots as they made it difficult to get down a bed of bait without them diving for it. Unfortunately 2 birds had to be unhooked during the week (both fine afterwards). We also experienced issues with crayfish with 5 rigs being cut through near the orange bouy and clawed boilies in evidence elsewhere in the lake. Had a tough week but we take some of the blame in retrospect as we think it might have been best to spend more time fishing close to weed beds rather than open water.

Details of your catches:
Only 4 fish between the 2 of us.
Mark
48lb 8oz mirror
37lb 14oz common
Danny
30lb 6oz common
28lb common all pb fish
Your best tactics/bait/rigs:
Boilie, tigers and pop up hookbaits all worked between us with scattering of particle and boilie.
Tried big beds of baits on spots and scattering on others, both approaches caught fish.
Were the facilities what you expected?
Yes.
Were you happy with them?
Yes basic but adequate.
Would you recommend the venue to a friend?
Always do and have.

General Comments:
Started fishing from the spit after finding clear areas around the weed but that wasn't productive in the first few days so we moved to the dam wall for 3 days where Mark had both the big mirror and common, Danny had 1 common from the spit before we moved, the dam wall shut off again so we moved back to the spit on Friday for ease of packing away on Saturday where Danny had the other common.
The weather wasn't ideal, mid 20s through the day then dropping to between 3 and 4° overnight which we think hindered the feeding from the fish and not really showing themselves which made it hard to locate them apart from the odd bosh out in the night, but the dense night sound give us no clue to where exactly they was.
The lake is lovely in all fairness with a lot of weed around the margins and the shallow end with banks of weed dotted around the whole lake. In time I think a bailiff would be required on hand if anglers need any information as at present there isn't much info with it being a relatively new water and the bailiff that is apparently the bailiff is more of a caretaker for the facilities rather than a bailiff for fishing information which we met him on arrival the Saturday and never seen him again.
But all in all we both had pbs and as always we all want more fish, but we were happy with what we caught in the end with the weather conditions against us to be fair.
