We all tried everything. What bites we did have were on floating bread.

The whole place was run down, the kitchen had seen better days, the draw front fell off on the first day.

General Comments:

8 angler, 22 rods, 13 fish, 2 large, 1 medium the rest small. Total of around 1500 miles, driving 24 hours. 3 fish, the whole place and the lake needs attention T.L.C. (Thank goodness the weather and the company was great)

General Comments:

NOT THE EASIEST WEEK FISHING ....BUT FANTASTIC RESULTS WITH THE TWO BIG FISH. THEY WHERE CRACKERS. THE KIDS LOVED IT AND SO DID WE. HAD GREAT COMPANY FROM THE TWO OTHER PARTIES THAT WHERE THERE.

2 anglers fishing had 2 x 40lb, 1 x 30lb common, 5 x 20's. Had 38 bites, landed 30 fish.

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Fished to feature, ie. pads, island, margins. Lightly baited with boilies, ehmp & corn. Fished boilies on hook. Used Elite baits Cream Cracker, Ocean Fruit & Christmas Cracker; caught on all 3.

General Comments:

Mas Bas was a wonderful family venue. Giles & Lesley were very helpful. We would definitely go back. Was much better than we expected.

Details of your catches:

Only fished intermittently as this was not meant to be a fishing holiday!, I found Lotus lake difficult as the carp were held up in the Lotus lillies. Caught a lovely carp in great condition. Spent a couple of hours also stalking in the arm of the main lake, lovely and exciting to see the groups of big carp just inches from my bait but all I got for my trouble was cramp!

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Never fished for more than an hour or so. Weather was very changeable. The guys on the main lake faired much better fishing full time from the front of lake house. Caught on Rajah Spice Quest bait snowman.

General Comments:

I had promised my partner a non fishing holiday and Mas Bas is a great place to be angler or not!- so time was very limited with rods in the water. Gilles has decided to take out a nother large chunk of the Lotus lily pads as are reducing the catch rates on Lotus. Should be done by now 3/7/08. Celebrated Gilles Birthday while we were there too. Photo's below also shows the newly installed aerator on the main lake in the background and Gilles, Leslie, Tao and myself clelebrating his birthday with plenty of good local wine! :-)
