Facilities were good all solar powered but more than adequate with chest freezer, sockets and shower

General Comments:

Souvenir is a 10 acre gravel pit with weed (proper carp fishing) would highly recommend the use of braid if fishing to snags or holes in the weed. Take Nigel’s advice and you won’t go far wrong top bloke

Double fake corn topped with pop up topper. Fished to the edge of the marginal trees in the deeper spots I could find

Better. We ended up on the cabin side and it made a massive difference especially with the weather we had.

General Comments:

Was a very mixed week with the weather starting off mid 20s and sunny until Monday when it dropped to 14c started raining and pretty much stayed for the rest of the week with the odd dry patch which meant we didn't pick up our 1st fish until the Wednesday morning. From Wednesday onwards for myself I had a few bites each night ending up with 8 fish and losing 3 unfortunately my cousin only managed the one. I do believe we would have done considerably better had the weather not been so up and down. The quality of the fish are second to none. The lake owner Nigel was brilliant he couldn't do enough for you. He will give you all his knowledge of the lake and spots to fish too or he will leave you to it if that's what you prefer. He also helped me make a few rig changes, I had only brought braided leaders and Nigel suggested changing to fluro leader as the water was clear. I didn't have any but Nigel supplied the leader material and helped me get some new ones tied up and back to fishing. Couldn't ask for more.

A tough week for myself personally with one fish caught but a beauty at 35.7, over 20 more fish up to 38lb caught by the group

Fished locked to the snags yellows and pink baits worked

Clean toilets and shower and a great social area and kitchen available on site

We would just like to say a massive thank you to Nigel for having us at his lake, any problems we had were swiftly sorted. We had many laughs this week and for a venue only open since August i'm excited to see what happens in the coming years.
